Emma's First Haircut

Emma has the MOST beautiful hair (even if I am a bit biased). It's been long for quite some time now and, until recently, she's never had a hair cut (excluding the THREE she gave herself, one with zig-zagged scrapbooking scissors). Sadly for me, she's outgrown the curls and waves that draped over her back, put it's still pretty nonetheless.

A few weeks ago (I'm a bit late with this post), we determined that she was in need of a trim (the back of her hair reached her pants), so off we went to see Miss Stacey at Tangles. She was so excited because she's been there many times with Casey and I. She really enjoyed herself and, while she had the apron draped over her and Stacey stepped away for a quick second, she leaned over and whispered to me, "Mom, don't I look so pretty?" You sure do, Sweetie. You sure do!
This is her hair before the cut. It's wave because it had been braided...

Tooth Fairy Update

I haven't even had a chance to update the blog about Casey losing tooth #2 last week and, wouldn't you know it, tooth #3 comes out! She's now missing her top two front teeth and one bottom tooth. In September, she was so frustrated that she was the only 2nd grader she knew who hadn't lost any teeth...and now she can't stop them from falling out!
Let's hope the Tooth Fairy can find her way here in all of this snow!

Fun in the (first) snow!

It snowed today from the time we woke up until the kids were tucked snugly in their beds (I would guess at least 5-6 inches). This afternoon, after meeting some friends at the Festival of Wreaths at the Art Center (and checking out our glittery, sparkly wreath hanging there) and doing some Christmas crafts at Michaels, we had some lunch and the girls headed out for some snow fun. They started by making snow angels and catching snowflakes on their tongues. (Jacob was napping.) They continued outside for a few hours sledding, first with their dad, and then with a friend from down the street. They even built a snow man and fort. Then, my little red-cheeked snow princesses came in to get warmed up and, in Emma's case, drink lots of hot chocolate (with a straw!).
The snowy day was the perfect set up for decorating our Christmas tree!
